About Us

Welcome to SpokenVision, a site dedicated to art, and we mean anything and everything about art.

SpokenVision was borne out of our deep interest in art, which is a very strong and impressive form of visual expression and communication. And that is where we got our name – SPOKENVISION, which we believe speaks for itself.

We invite you to explore our website, and enjoy reading about famous and little-known artists from the past to the present. Learn about the lives of the great Renaissance Masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Botticelli, and find out the artistry and differing approaches of the Impressionists from the likes of Claude Monet and Camille Pissarro, to the temperamental artists like Gustave Caillebotte, Gustave Courbet, Eugene Delacroix and Vincent van Gogh and be more than impressed by the deft touch of John Singer Sargent, Joseph Mallord William Turner and Winslow Homer.

Within our pages, you will discover other artistic greats, like Russian painters such as Ivan Shishkin, Konstantin Korovin, Alexei Savrasov, Valentin Serov, Rafail Levitsky and Ilya Repin, whose magnificent works in various genres deserve to be known to the world.

Join us as we discover tidbits about the man that started the fantastic Japanese manga, the secrets behind Maori tattoos, the grace and serenity of Ikebana flower arranging, the secrets for the longevity of Chinese porcelain, and the discipline, strength and deftness involved in Chinese, Korean and Japanese brush paintings and their differences. Be inspired by the dedication of a small group of Chinese embroiderers that transform silk embroidery into fantastic thread paintings.

There are works of art that were stolen and have not been found to this day. There are art pieces that command incredible prices. There are works of art that manage to inspire various works, such as the enigmatic Mona Lisa, while there are art works that require a second and third look to be understood. Behind all of them are interesting stories that brought about their creation.

Art is such a visual and tangible creative form that had been around for many eons, as exemplified by ancient rock art found in various caves around the world. Art continues to evolve, and bring us many forms, from those that were painstakingly created by hand to the latest forms that use that newest technology applicable.

We look forward to the emergence of other art forms, and we hope that we’ll be together in discovering new techniques in visual communication.

In the meantime, we have hundreds of interesting articles available. Check them out and let us know what you think.
